Owner and designer Diane Bennett Bedford (allied member A.S.I.D.) brings her extensive knowledge of the design industry to all her projects from commercial to high end residential. Having traveled and studied in Europe and Asia, Diane has an eclectic approach to design and can work to accommodate any style. She is gifted at blending the old with the new.
With great attention to detail she prides herself on versatility, vitality and is able to create serene and comfortable environments to satisfy the most discerning clients. She is equally at ease designing whimsical children’s rooms to the most elegant and sophisticated of living and dining rooms. She has a particular flair for soft and romantic bedrooms.
Having raised 3 children, Diane is capable of selecting practical and cost-effective fabrics and furniture for younger families, or at the opposite end of the spectrum, she can work with the most contemporary and chic high-end styles. Her design philosophy is that every home should reflect the tastes and personality of the owner, not of the designer!
Diane was educated at Polytechnic School in Pasadena, followed by a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree (in Art Education) with a minor in Art History, from the University of Southern California.
Following her graduation from U.S.C. she was an Art Teacher at the secondary school level for Los Angeles City Schools, for 5 years.
Next, she finished her interior design training by completing the Associate degree in Interior Design at UCLA, where she studied space planning, textiles, furniture, drafting, and many other courses that have led to her expertise.
25 years ago, she started her own Interior Design business and has been involved ever since with many great resources, vendors and a personal relationship with many in the design field.
One of her favorite quotations is from Coco Chanel…..”Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury”
She looks forward with delight to any new project!
